ABOUT US<\/h1>\n

The eco lodge idea is about providing an eco-friendly tourist destination on the island of Tinos, using the natural resources that surround us in a sustainable manner and creating an autonomous off-grid system for the houses. This means using renewable energy resources such as sun and wind as well as building with local materials, promoting and producing local products, minimizing and recycling our waste and promoting activities connected to the natural environment that we are in.<\/h4>\n

Our mission is to achieve a self-sustaining\u00a0 infrastructure and be actively involved in all stages: from the initial design and research of the different environmental technologies, to the implementation. Hi there, I came to Tinos in 1998 and really liked the island, the light and the culture. Together with Nikos I started building a house which was eventually finished in 2010 and have lived on the island continuously since we moved here in 2014. I studied rural resources and environmental policy and worked for 12 years in an NGO for the protection of birds in Greece.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

I also enjoy learning new things, being creative, practising yoga and living a simple and natural life. Hello\u00a0Reader,
\nI originate from Berlin, with a German-Greek family background. Over the years I became more and more involved in Greece. Since my first winter holiday in Tinos I became fascinated with the island, its nature and the rural society.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1431694025147{border-bottom-width: 1px !important;padding-top: 5px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;border-bottom-color: #ffffff !important;}”][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text el_class=”subtext2″]With a background in Landscape architecture, I decided that there should be a better mix in life than just sitting in front of the computer designing urban nature.
\nSo I started working together with different NGOs for the protection of natural sites and mainly in the field of environmental design and education.
\nI always liked the combination of theoretical approaches and direct practical output that can be touched, smelled and seen.
\nSo I decided that it would be the perfect playground to establish a group of people with similar interests and find a nice piece of land to put it together.

So, hello there, I’m from Berlin as well, where I was born and have been living ever since. I work freelance in the rope access industry, which in my case means travelling from one major building site to the next. I guess this is one of the reasons i got into this project.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

\nAnd of course the challenge of building and creating something that is as eco-friendly as possible as well as being energy self-sufficient, makes the whole project something worth sweating for!
\nApart from that i really like the idea of working outdoors as it makes it at lot easier to dig and construct when you have a magnificent view!!!<\/p>\n

Looking forward to being wrecked and happy after a long day and an evening swim in the Aegean sea.

Hello everybody, I am originally from Berlin, where I also studied landscape architecture. Instead of working in an office for landscape architecture, I decided to work as an educator with teenagers, which gave me the opportunity to work with people I care for with face-to-face interaction.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
