Tinos Ecolodge is part of the HYDROUSA Horizon 2020 project.<\/h3>\n

Tinos Ecolodge is HYDRO6 demonstration site as partner of the HYDROUSA Horizon 2020 project. Within the HYDROUSA what we do here is an innovative combination of water management cycles coupling agricultural and touristic activities. It is implemented within Tinos Ecolodge and aims to demonstrate how a small touristic unit can be self-sufficient and sustainable in using its resources efficiently. Within HYDROUSA new rainwater harvesting loops have been developed, where water is also harvested through small constructed wetlands coupled with disinfection to produce reclaimed water. The reclaimed and harvested water is used for the cultivation of 0.15ha of fruits, vegetables and herbs using precision irrigation techniques. Tinos ecolodge Hydrousa HORIZON 2020 project<\/h3>\n

Part of the Hydrousa project is to construct a new cistern in order to increase water collection capacity by 80q.m\u00a0 in order to irrigate the new plantations of herbs, capers, vines and fruit trees of the Ecolodge. Herb plantation and school guided tours<\/h3>\n

Planting Oregano, Thyme, Lavender, Rosemary, Caper, Helichrysum, Dictamus and Sage for small scale dried Herbs and essential oil production. A tour around the Ecolodge showing some of the low-tech Nature based systems for water treatment, sanitation and rain water collection. Compost toilet construction for permaculture seminars<\/h3>\n

In 2016 we constructed two barel compost toilets for hosting permaculture seminars and other workshops up to 20 people.
